Each year, DDS serves an average of 112 adults with special challenges and helps them achieve a greater level of independence. Through its Competitive Employment Program and by the Elks Home Service Nurse, individuals are empowered to work and live as independently as possible. DDS believes that lives can be transformed through independence, resulting in a higher level of self esteem and a greater sense of belonging in the community. Adults enrolled in the DDS Competitive Employment Program are invited to participate in the DDS Social Club, which provides the opportunity for networking and socialization.
