“Helping Our County’s Youngest Succeed”
The vision of Quality Child Care Development (QCCD) is to prepare all Lebanon County Children for success in school and life by the enhancement of early care and education opportunities for families. The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) recognized that efforts to improve childhood development should take place locally through collaboration among educators, child care professionals, parents, and other specialists.
In 2001, Quality Child Care Development (QCCD) – the early childhood initiative of Developmental & Disability Services – was created to convene community stakeholders, conduct community assessments and develop the Early Care & Education Community Plan for Lebanon County. Over the past five years this Community Engagement Team has been working with other community partners to systematically explore and solve existing and emerging child development issues that are too complex for one group to address alone.
Goals:
- Improve the quality of early care and education in Lebanon County.
- Develop effective school readiness strategies for improving transitions to kindergarten.
- Educate the community about Keystone STARS and the importance of quality early learning experiences.
