Learn how DDS services impact the lives of real people:

Meet Drew -
Drew was born with Torticollis, or “twisted neck,” which he developed from his position in the womb. I requested that Drew have a screening for Early Intervention Services. I am confident that due to Sue’s (physical therapist) hard work and dedication, Drew’s tilt has decreased and he has been meeting age appropriate milestones such as rolling over and sitting unassisted.- Michele Shireman

Meet Kiersten –
Without the services provided by DDS Kiersten wouldn't be where she is today. She has progressed so far with the help of her physical therapist, Sue Maurer. She is now able to walk on her own with the assistance of a walker...when she wants to. I am just so proud of how far she has come.- Jen Powell, Kiersten's mother
Meet Joanna –
To see Joanna riding bike and playing with the other children at the DDS-Alley Learning Center Preschool is a miracle. Joanna was born clinically dead after doctors performed an emergency Cesarean. At six months of age, Joanna began to receive
Early Intervention Services in her home by DDS physical, occupational and speech therapists. At age three, Joanna enrolled in the DDS-Alley Learning Center Preschool and she is improving daily as she continues to receive therapy along with special instruction.

Meet Dillan –
Dillan is a graduate of the DDS-Early Intervention program. After a 10 year break, he once again became involved in DDS as an active participant in its recre-ational programs. He attends the Summer Stars Day Camp, ACES and is an original member of the Boy Scout Troop chartered by DDS. As a result, Dillan has become a lot more to interact with his peers.–

Meet Karen –
Karen knows that her quality of life would not be the same without her job and the DDS - Supported Competitive Employment Program. Like many people, Karen met her husband at work. Since both Ed and Karen are employed, and earn fair wages, they were able to purchase a home. Karen and Ed are grateful for programs like the DDS job coaching program that make is possible for them to live as independently as possible. – Karen interview
