Who is DDS?

We believe that through greater independence, individuals are able to experience a higher quality of life. The mission of Developmental & Disability Services of Lebanon Valley is to empower children with developmental delays and persons with disabilities to lead more productive, satisfying and/or independent lives.

DDS equally recognizes the importance of inclusion and socialization to create an environment in which people feel accepted for who they are. By a greater sense of self, individuals are more confident and independent.

Through DDS early intervention programs and job coaching services, individual’s lives are transformed as they overcome challenges and gain greater independence—we call this the power of independence.

We’re Going Places, Thanks To Organizations Like DDS

Meet the 2009-2010 Ambassadors, Michael and Aaron Yiengst. DDS has been working with the twins since they first came home from the hospital. We coined our campaign slogan after their miraculous deeds— We’re Going Places. It is amazing to see how far the boys have come in the first four years of their lives and we look forward to the opportunity of watching the boys grow into adulthood.

It never ceases to amaze us how much the children grow in the time that we serve them through early intervention services. DDS is very fortunate to witness the many accomplishments children make on a day-to-day basis. Not to mention, the great honor it is to serve these individuals and their families during this critical time in a child’s development.

Of course the real proof of the pudding is when we hear back from those who have graduated from DDS early intervention programs. Many of our alumni have made great strides in their lives—and truthfully, they are going places because of the services we provided them in their youth and adulthood.
