Art can sometimes be the great equalizer, for when
you look at a piece of art, you do not see the physical qualities of the person, but rather you get a glimpse of the person who lives inside.  It is for this reason the Developmental and Disability Services of Lebanon Valley Foundation chooses art as a medium to tell its story of the hundreds of lives that are impacted through DDS services and programs.  Each piece of art in the 2010 collection is an expression of the triumph for the many challenges the individuals have had to overcome to get to this point in their life.

The artwork can be viewed at Trattoria Fratelli from July through the end of September.  Artwork will be available for sale at the Heritage Dinner. For more information, click here

Who is DDS?

We believe that through greater independence, individuals are able to experience a higher quality of life. The mission of Developmental & Disability Services of Lebanon Valley is to empower children with developmental delays and persons with disabilities to lead more productive, satisfying and/or independent lives.

DDS equally recognizes the importance of inclusion and socialization to create an environment in which people feel accepted for who they are. By a greater sense of self, individuals are more confident and independent.

Through DDS early intervention programs and job coaching services, individual’s lives are transformed as they overcome challenges and gain greater independence—we call this the power of independence.
